Although the mortality rate for cardiovascular conditions has dropped significantly in the past 20 years, heart disease is still the primary cause of death in men.
Heart and circulatory diseases cause more than 160,000 deaths each year in the UK. That’s an average of 460 deaths each day or one every three minutes. That’s a lot of broken hearts – statistically, and emotionally for those left behind.
There are around 4 million men and 3.6 million women living with heart or circulatory disease in the UK
